| Mike,
Concerning encumbrance...
Is a suit of scale mail a human wears the same size as a suit of scale mail a halfling wears? I suggest it is smaller and, therefor, would weigh less.
I think everything else would weigh about the same, however.
Have any idea what a halfling-sized suit of scale mail would weigh so I can try to calculate encumbrance?

Ethan Umm.. (silly grin) half! Seriously, yes, about half the weight. Also, a normally purchased 'longsword' would have to be held like a 'two-handed-sword' by a halfling, though it would still do longsword damage, of course. Weapons normally considered two-hand for a human would be too large for a halfling to use.

| Half... halfling...
Ha! I get it!
(Seriously, took me a sec. Be kind, I have a 10-week old and am generally sleep deprived.)
Ok, I'll adjust the weight on my armor to half. And I took all of the rest into account when I purchased equipment (no 10' pole for this 3' tall person to carry around!), hence the short sword, short bow, and hand axe.
Well... money had something to do with it, too. But I always seem to have just enough for the things I think I need/want. I suppose that's just called, "making do".

I rolled well for money, but opted to squander much of it on a guard dog and essentially useless bling (silver holy symbol.)

| I was a touch worried about encumbrance, being just a halfling-sized person, so I went through and dropped a few things from my inventory to "make weight". Lost the rope, the oil, and the bedroll. Down to 55 lbs now, which seems a bit more reasonable than 75 lbs. Plus, it puts me in a better movement category, which I think is more in tune with my character. Plus, it's nice to start off a character that has at least two coins she can rub together. | |

| At first level, and every level thereafter, all characters get 1 Action Point. These action points operate a bit differently than those usually associated with Eberron, since we're using old-school style rules. Spending an action point can have a wide variety of amazing effects. I'll list a few examples: - Manifest or upgrade a dragonmark
- Change a bad roll to a 20 (or whatever is appropriate)
- Go unconscious at 0 hit points instead of dying
When spent, these points are gone forever. In addition to earning another at each level, they might also be earned by achieving extraordinary success in some major goal. Using the guidelines above, I'll judge the effect of spending an action point on an ad hoc basis.

| Anything special for role-playing or story-telling our use of the action point? I'll work on providing you with an example of how I think I'll spend my first one... | |

I'll work on providing you with an example of how I think I'll spend my first one... It's like the moment when Leia kisses Luke and they swing across the chasm, narrowly missed by blaster fire I'm guessing the moment will usually lend itself to a good description of how you pull victory out of the toilet hehe
