headed to bed.. I'll update the game thread when I get up in the morning Unless you guys have more questions or etc for the soldiers at the garrison, you will fairly quickly get taken out into the countryside as part of the patrol checking on the forged, after eating with the soldiers.

I swear, it's taking every last bit of willpower I can muster to not name two of these guys Hans and Franz.

Hey guys!

Sorry I've been MIA. I'm not getting the emails that there have been updates, so it's up to me to remember to get my butt over here and see what's going on. Unfortunately, I've been really busy this week.

I've been writing a new mental_floss article (A Brief History of Slot Cars), working on a movie review for a new site I'm helping to launch in a few weeks (www.welovecult.com), writing the occasional bit for geeksaresexy.net, and I just got my first freelance advertising copywriting job today (and it's due Monday...*doh!*).

So, long story short, I'll probably be MIA for the rest of the weekend, as far as real gameplay goes. I'll check in at random times (like, say, 2:30 in the morning...), but Finora will most likely be watching from afar until next Tuesday or so.

But I like where this is going! The shoe coming from the shadows was a nice touch!

Sounds like your schedule is packed, but it seems like fun stuff to me (I love mental_floss!).

In my Greyhawk pbp game I added a cleric NPC to the party, and in rolling her up right in the forum [no chance to fudge lol] she got a 3 for intelligence. It's a trip figuring out how to play her. She had to be able to read, since that was part of the npc already, so she's the slowest reader to ever puzzle her way through an illuminated manuscript. She found a book of lvl 1 cleric spells in a dungeon, and it took her like 2 months to learn them. hehe

My weekend of writing is over so I'm back again. Got caught up on the events of the weekend. Very intrigued...

Meanwhile, in game...
Finora staggers back to the garrison on foot with blades of dried grass sticking out of her hair and mud caked to her cloak and armor. "What the hell, guys!? Did you forget I was out there? No one came to pick me up so I had to walk all the way back here. Man...you guys suck."

Due to some stuff going on, my posting over the next few days may be erratic and possibly disjointed, but will then get back to normal.

bah! in the middle of posting and i have to go do something. I will post after supper - sorry :/

What are you thinking? Would you rather leave this and go north to do what we'd originally intended? Or what? I don't want to be the only one making decisions and doing things - that gets a bit boring.

We seem a bit sidetracked from what we'd set out to do. I guess it was the inn owner's missing warforged that did it. You guys want to continue with this? Or do you want to make an excuse to Lord Thule and grab our gear and go north to get back on schedule with clearing out the rest of the goblins?

I'm just not really sure how to address the warforged situation - if they're being taken away by airship it's going to be hard to pursue them - and I don't have a good idea of how to find out where that ship's home port is.

I don't want to say too much, but I'll go ahead and point out a couple of things

I wrote a few things out, but I think Tagor will mention them instead.. heh. I'll wait to see if anyone has any specific questions for the warforged kp duty guy.

There are several basic rules I like to try and stick to in an RPG, and we're not doing two of them at this point.

Don't get distracted by wandering monsters.
Don't split up.

Well, we're not totally split up now, but we were for a while. I hate that. Safety in numbers and all that jazz.

In a sandbox game, it's very easy to get distracted from the current goal. I don't want to get five different things started and then have SO much going on we can't keep it all straight. Right now, we have two head honchos with lists of things for us to do. We were initially headed up north back to that small town to help with more goblin issues (among other things not yet fleshed out, if I recall - it's been a while in RL since we've read the list!).

But we got side-tracked with the missing warforged at the inn.

I'm starting to think we should get back on track, head up to the town, and track down some goblin raiding parties. We can only do so much and I'm not really sure where to go with the wf issue at this point, anyway.

And I know there were some parts lately where not everyone was involved, so not everyone could respond, but during the OTHER times, when we're all together, I'd like to see more input from the rest of the party.
