Then I come back here to this! Creepy. hehe, my wife's been watching that too

| Not sure how, but I totally missed the part where Cash growled and looked up at the tree.
I was very tired last night. Working on articles for the newsletter I write (St. Louis Woodworkers Guild), at some point I realized I was typing out the questions my wife was asking me instead of writing about who was doing a presentation on beading planes at the next meeting...
That's when I went to bed. The members of the guild don't need to know why I don't like a particular photographer for our baby photos...
So a big oops there! I'll try to pay more attention to Cash in the future... if there is one.

| Jaral receives +3 to hit bonus for dexterity, and additional +1 for short range. We are now six yards from tree if I remember correctly. Should I add this to my posts, or trust you to add it in? EDIT: +3 is actually +2 from dexterity and +1 halfling missile bonus...

EDIT: +3 is actually +2 from dexterity and +1 halfling missile bonus... I can add it in I check every time anyway, so either way is fine.

| Marching order looks good to me.
Nice shot Ducats!
Edit - just noticed AC in rules section. I believe Jaral's AC should be 2 with the Dexterity bonus.

marching order If we're going to have Reeks and Brooner carry torches, we should spread them out in the group a little. Maybe have Reeks after Jaral? I don't know what the quality of light that Caby and Jaral would need to see ahead would be after being filtered by four people and a dog...

| I'm game for placing a torch bearer behind Jaral in marching order. My hope is that Jaral has enough steel strapped to his body to slow down any attackers bent on reaching the thief and cleric. | |

Since I don't use a shield, I could carry a lantern - I don't know how much archery is going to be possible inside the tree....

| Hey, that's not a bad idea... unless you want to dual-wield with one of the short swords we took off the dead... things.
Mike would have to confirm, but the way he runs the other OD&D campaign I'm in, you can dual wield weapons to get a +1 To Hit modifier. Basically, the thought is this: Use two weapons for +1 To Hit, use a two-handed weapon for +1 to damage, use a shield for +1 to AC.
Might be different in this game, so we'd have to see what he says... Then we could let the hirelings carry the torches and we could swing away with no worries of putting out our light.

| Since LL uses the same 1 attack per round system for players, yeah, I'd do the +1 to hit when using two weapons. LL already increases damage for two handed weapons by using the variable damage dice.
This probably isn't an ideal situation, since LL uses 10 second rounds instead of 1 minute rounds, thus making combat less abstract. I'd rather do it this way though than giving an additional attack each round but having to put shifting penalties on both the hit rolls. From personal experience learning about Florentine (using 2 weapons) in SCA, it really doesn't worsen your 'aim' or ability to hit your opponent at all, but instead gives you extra little opportunities to hit them, at the expense of being a much easier target yourself.
Another thing I learned from SCA is that shields are vastly undervalued in the math of DnD.. to make it realistic, a shield should help your AC by at least 2 or 3 instead of just 1 point. But.. that's a whole different exercise.. heh.

| Certainly, we'll go with whatever rules you want to set down, Mike. I was just tossing the possibility out there for Cole in case he hadn't thought about dual wielding. Oh, and if you want to give a +2 or +3 bonus for shield use, then... by all means, do so! | |

| By the way, Llama, Cole, and Chaos... something to note from the two baddies we took out so far is that they weren't undead - just evil things that probably eat people.
*whew*
I can handle that.
I hate undead movies... 28 Days Later was one of the scariest movies I'd seen in a long time - zombies aren't supposed to run that fast!

| No, not for certain. But they were pretty varied in shape and size, as were the tracks. I didn't think to look at their feet to see if they matched any of the tracks. But it seems logical. | |
